How the Waebli Family Score works
A transparent, comparable score that captures how well a Gemeinde supports daily family life. Seven axes, one composite, public profiles, annual league table.
What it measures
The Family Score answers a question Swiss families ask every day: which Gemeinde is the best place to raise a child? Today, that question has no canonical answer — only marketing pages, outdated PDFs, and word of mouth.
Waebli builds the canonical answer. Each participating Gemeinde gets a public profile with seven axis scores and one composite. Scores update weekly. Every November, the annual league table publishes a ranked snapshot — Best Gemeinde for Families.
Scores are not opinion. Every axis ties to a measurable data source: content audits, opt-in micro-surveys, Discover-layer activity counts, Kita registry coverage. No black-box AI. No advertising influence. No paid placements.
The seven axes
Each axis is scored 0–5 and weighted into the composite. Weights reflect what the May 2026 parent survey (n ≈ 51) shows actually drives family-life quality.

What we never do with family data
No identifiable cohorts
Every dashboard breakdown enforces k-anonymity (minimum 10 residents). Smaller cohorts are suppressed.
No data selling
No advertising, no third-party data sharing. Family Space data is private to the family and never aggregated.
Opt-in surveys only
Micro-surveys are voluntary and opt-out at any time. No score is ever tied to an individual resident.

Common questions
Can a Gemeinde pay to improve its score?+
No. Scores derive from measurable inputs (content, surveys, registries). The only paid offering is the Gemeinde subscription, which unlocks dashboard access and the ability to publish verified services. Subscription does not change the score.
What happens if a Gemeinde refuses to participate?+
The profile still appears with a provisional score calculated from public sources. Gemeinden can request corrections at any time, but cannot suppress the listing — transparency is the point.
How are weights chosen?+
Weights reflect drivers of family-life quality identified in the May 2026 Waebli parent survey and ongoing in-app signal. The methodology is published; weight changes are versioned and announced.
Why publish only annually?+
The score updates weekly inside Waebli. The November annual league table is a snapshot timed to align with the relocation and school-registration decision window.
Who decides 'family-relevant' services?+
A published category list: events, Kita, Familienzentrum, Spielgruppe, newcomer info, health (Mütter-/Väterberatung), education (Kindergarten, Schule). The list is reviewed with Gemeinde and Kanton input annually.
